Daniella Strasfogel is a violinist, violin teacher and performer in Berlin.
Through her years of development as an artist, she has consistently sought to deepen her understanding of her body as a vessel for interpretation, through the instrument and the voice as well as through physicality of movement and gesture.
Born and raised in New York City, she studied violin in the USA (Purchase College Conservatory of Music, Cleveland Institute of Music) and Germany (Universität der Künste Berlin).
She is a founding member of the Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop Berlin and was artistic director of the ensemble from 2010-2015. In this position she sought out new musical performance concepts and collaborated with artistic partners (FC Bergman, Susanne Kennedy, Sasha Waltz, Ladislav Zajac, Sarah Nemtsov, etc.) For festivals (Sommerlichen Musiktage Hitzacker, Thüringer Bachwochen, Sydney Festival, etc.) and performance spaces (Radialsystem V Berlin, Villa Elizabeth Berlin, Kampnagel Hamburg, HELLERAU Dresden etc.) she has created staged concert programs, led audience discussions and worked with amateur musicians and students.
As a freelance musician, she plays with ensembles such as Ensemble Modern, and Ensemble Proton Bern. Since 2015, Daniella continues to play / sing / perform with Kaleidoskop at various festivals in Europe and around the world.
Daniella has been teaching violin for 18 years. In her teaching, she works with adults, teenagers and children, from beginners to advanced. She founded the production company LOUDsoft in 2018 with the aim of creating multidimensional musical experiences for and with families, young people and amateur musicians.
